Ikon Science is committed to supporting our customers in long-term business and environmental sustainability. This commitment begins with ensuring our vision, values and mission are based on strong ESG (Environment, Social and Governance) foundations.
Our solutions support the reduction carbon emissions for our clients, but before we look to solving the problems faced by the wider energy industry, we are staunchly committed to reducing our own carbon footprint. Our staff and offices are, wherever possible, adopting initiatives to meet these goals. We have installed motion sensing lights and air conditioning, we recycle or donate IT equipment when it is no longer needed, and have provided recycling points for waste. Primarily, we have paperless workspaces, and encourage our staff to think carefully about the need for business travel.
At Ikon Science, people are our greatest resource. We are an equal opportunities employer, and run programs for graduates, interns and apprentices. We have a recruitment policy that is far-reaching and encourages diversity in applicants. We have flexible, enabling working policies which include flex hours and home working.
It is important to us to provide not only a safe, comfortable and positive working environment, but to nurture and care for our staff. Our generous renumeration packages include a number of location appropriate benefits, including healthcare and professional memberships, and we actively encourage our people to take advantage of continuing professional development opportunities (CPD).
Our apprentice and intern programs enable Ikon Science to gain candidates from our local communities who might not otherwise gain access to the opportunities within in our industry. We are also invested in the local communities of our team members, with staff given two days paid leave per annum to give back to a cause they choose. In the UK, we also have a payroll giving scheme, which encourages staff members to donate to registered charities tax free. We are always looking for opportunities like this to extend to our team around the world and give back to our communities.
Science and Technology development and understanding improves exponentially when shared. We invest heavily in partnerships in industry and educational institutions. We sponsor graduate competitions and initiatives, and give students access to training – encouraging and enthusing future geoscientists. During times of industry transition, we started a “Geos between Jobs” free initiative to train out of work scientists on RokDoc software. To date, we’ve trained approximately 450 geoscientists. We also support e-learning and training. Industry Societies form the backbone for collaboration, and Ikon staff are actively involved at many levels, giving their time and skills as volunteers.
Our Leadership Team brings together decades of industry experience, recognized globally for their innovation and accomplishments. We have strictly adhered-to standards on corporate behaviour, including declaration of conflicts of interest, and do not engage in any behaviour that would be illegal or even perceived as unacceptable in any country, as well as robust policies governing HR and interpersonal behaviours. All the team, at whatever level, receive training on anti-bribery and all our policies as a matter of course. Our leadership team is inclusive, diverse, collaborative with the workforce, and welcomes input from all levels of the business.
Compliance with international standards and key government policies underscores the governance of Ikon Science. We are committed to excellence, not only in our software and solutions, but in fairness and reputation.
