Fergus graduated in 2012 from Imperial College London with an MSc in Petroleum Geoscience. From there he joined Hess Corporation on their graduate program, rotating through the London, Houston, Paris and Stavanger offices. In 2014 he joined Ikon Science in London, and latterly Aberdeen, providing software and workflow support to RokDoc users. In July 2018 he moved to Kuala Lumpur as the Technical Support Manager, heading up the team providing technical sales, support, and training across the Asia-Pacific region.
